ROB4GREEN is proud to be part of a network of European projects exchanging knowledge and results across AI, data, energy and digital innovation.

IBot4CRMs

Waste is manually sorted by trained staff to remove hazardous materials and recover critical raw materials (CRMs) from crashed cars, electric motors and home appliances. Current sorting machines can only process waste into three streams per hour and face challenges due to the variability in waste types. The EU-funded iBot4CRMs project develops a self-learning robot that uses advanced AI tools to recover CRMs from urban waste. It also dismantles end-of-life products, thereby enhancing circularity and value chains across Europe. This robotic system combines senso-mechanical perception with flexible manipulation, integrating reusable solutions from other sectors. The project carries out four large-scale pilots in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey.

AEROSUB

Robots are increasingly used across various fields, and the renewable energy sector’s need for sustainability could benefit from robotic solutions in floating offshore wind farms. The EU-funded AEROSUB project develops advanced robotic solutions for both fixed and floating offshore wind farms, focusing on improving operation and maintenance procedures to enhance the sustainability of renewable energy in challenging environments. The project demonstrates how robotics, integrated with AI and data analytics, can reduce CO2 emissions from operations by up to 15 million tonnes and lower the levelised cost of electricity by 2.5 %. It uses various robotic platforms to optimise collaboration between humans and robots, minimising personnel exposure to hazardous environments.

AMALTEA

The construction industry is facing demands for sustainability, efficiency and safety while grappling with rising energy consumption, resource depletion and waste. The need for smarter, more adaptable solutions is becoming increasingly urgent as the construction sector aims to align with European Green Deal objectives. Also, human safety and the integration of technology remain key concerns as automation in construction grows. In this context, the EU-funded AMALTEA project seeks to tackle these issues by streamlining robotics, AI and data use in the construction of curtain-wall façades. By digitalising the entire value chain (design, manufacturing, installation and recycling), AMALTEA aims to reduce environmental impact while improving safety and product quality.

AID4SME

Industries vital to the European Green Deal face complex resource optimisation challenges requiring advanced AI and data solutions. However, SMEs often lack access to the necessary resources and expertise to benefit from these tools. In this context, the EU-funded AID4SME project aims to bridge this gap by supporting at least 20 SMEs through financial aid, education and an active community of practice. Partnering with large industry players, the project provides real-life challenges and testbeds across automotive, energy and other sectors. Specifically, the project’s flexible platform integrates cutting-edge AI technologies, enabling SMEs to deliver impactful solutions while fostering skills development and standardisation. Collaborating with the AI-on-Demand platform, AID4SME drives innovation, competitiveness and a greener future.

COSMIC

COSMIC is an EU-funded project developing and scaling artificial intelligence and data-driven solutions to support the European Green Deal. Through 15 pilots across Europe, the project demonstrates how these technologies can optimise energy use, reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency in industry, buildings and transport. By bringing together industry partners, technology providers and innovative SMEs, COSMIC supports the testing and wider adoption of solutions that accelerate the green transition.
